RESTORATION
REDNUM offers Restoration of your floors/tops by diamond cutting, honing and polishing, followed by application of anti-slip surface sealer and a finish if your choice. This is a comprehensive once-off restoration service for floors and tops in total dilapidation or significant disrepair.
PLANNED MAINTENANCE
REDNUM provides Planned maintenance programmes for the never-ending renewal of natural stone floors and tops. This service is quarterly, monthly, weekly or nightly, budget depending and allows clients to avoid expensive future restoration work by maintaining their tops and floors in a restored state. Regular polishing removes the build-up of scratches, stains and etching and whilst maintaining a sealed anti-slip surface in the desired finish.
REACTIVE MAINTENANCE
REDNUM offers a 24/7 reactive service to all clients for last-minute and unexpected one-off jobs when our expertise is needed in a swift and timely manner to remedy unexpected stains or damage to natural stone floors and tops.
METHODOLOGY
DIAMOND CUTTING
Course grade metal and resin bonded diamond abrasives are used with heavy planetary head rotation machines to remove all lippage, deep scratches and heavy stains, resulting in natural stone floors and tops being rendered to a ‘as new’ mat factory condition. From this stage a natural stone surface can be honed and polished to a matt, honed or high gloss finish.
DIAMOND HONING
Medium grade resin-bonded diamond abrasives are used with planetary head rotation machines to hone natural stone floors and tops, removing scratches, surface stains and chemical etching, whilst delivering a medium level of shine and natural look, known as a satin or honed finish.
DIAMOND POLISHING
Medium to light grade diamond abrasives are used with planetary head rotation machines to highly polish marble and other natural stone floors and tops into a high gloss finish. This process removes minor scratching and light stains, whilst delivering a high natural shine and deep lustre. This finish provides strong natural protection to the surface of the natural stone by making it less porous and easier to clean. A high gloss floor will need regular diamond polishing to maintain.
SEALING
Both solvent and water based topical and impregnating sealers are used for varying utilities including; prevention of stain penetration of the surface of natural stone floors and tops; protection against environmental damage such as water, mineral deposits and general soiling and; colour and appearance enhancement purposes.
STRIPPING & CHEMICAL CLEANING
Chemical strippers and cleaning compounds are applied to floors with planetary head rotation machines or by hand to remove to old topical sealers, waxes, surface soiling and superficial staining. Chemical cleaning is also used to sanitise natural stone floors and tops.
GROUT CLEANING AND REPLACING
Chemical cleaners, colour enhancers and specialised grout routering rotation tools as used to remove build ups of mould, dirt and grease, remedy discolouration and remove old grouting to be replaced as necessary.
ANTI-SLIP TESTING (PENDULUM, BS7976)
REDNUM uses independent third-party contractors to test natural stone floors for their anti-slip qualities.
ANTI-SLIP TREATMENT
Floors are polished to within safe standards (with no higher than 400 GRIT resin-bonded diamond abrasives), whilst surface sealers and specific anti-slip shampoos are applied to further reduce floor slip hazards.
VITRIFICATION
Chemical polishing compounds are applied to polished natural stone floors and tops with planetary head rotation machines in order to create additional shine and hard topical seals where necessary.
